SmartWater for town schools
Two Shrewsbury town schools have picked up special accreditation as a ‘safer school'.
Crowmoor Primary and Harlescott Junior were given the recognition by Shropshire Council and West Mercia Police who promote the safety scheme.
A certificate and ‘Safer School’ sign has been handed over after both school’s carried out a review of safety and security and improvements were made around the school grounds. As part of the accreditation they have also been supplied with SmartWater to mark equipment with the unique security deterrent.
Ian Bartlett, crime prevention officer at West Mercai Police said: ‘This is a scheme and process for all Shropshire schools and the majority of Shropshire LEA schools are currently working on the scheme. When they are accredited premises continue to review their circumstances, making improvements if necessary.’
