Business watch comes together

Members of Northamptonshire Business Watch have met to discuss how companies across the County can protect themselves against criminals.

Officers from Northamptonshire Police met representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and SmartWater at a crime prevention day at Kings Park Conference Centre in Moulton Park. Community safety inspector John McKinney used the gathering to appeal to business owners to fit their company cars with tamper-proof number plates. He said: “In recent months number plate thefts, stolen to facilitate other crimes, have risen considerably. For a small cost, a company fleet can be fitted with anti-tamper screws preventing their removal”.

Kirstine Storey of Northamptonshire Chamber said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the police service and crime prevention mechanisms like SmartWater to form a united approach to tackling business crime.”
