SmartWater Index Spray systems
SmartWater Index Spray systems are used extensively by police forces to support covert operations. The systems are also available on a commercial basis for use in conjunction with conventional burglar/attack alarm systems. The 'covert' systems have been widely deployed throughout the country to catch and convict persistent offenders - they have proved highly successful in securing convictions and are often used in trap cars. The water-based solution, which contains a unique ‘forensic fingerprint’, sprays an intruder or attacker, thus enabling the police to prove conclusively that the suspect was present when the crime was committed.

- Extremely difficult to remove from skin
- Virtually impossible to remove from clothing and other materials
- Invisible to the naked eye, but fluoresces under UV light
